The creators of NitroTV, a frontend for mplayer, as well as an RSS client, weather viewer, and more, have tweeted a screenshot of the unofficial app running on an Apple TV.

the whole launcher thing people were talking about was operating under the faulty assumption other iOS apps were going to “just work” while this, on the other hand, is a real frappliance that can be copied in over ssh just fine (thats how i got it in)
As far as I know, this is the first report of any app successfully running on an Apple TV 2.
PwnageTool opened the floodgates, so we will soon a lot more applications like this make their way to the device.
